Guyana Sugar Cake



1 dry coconut
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp rose water
1/3 tsp nutmeg


Grate coconut with a grater.
Boil sugar with water until it forms a thread.
Add grated coconut, rose water and nutmeg to the sugar
Stir constantly until the mixture thicken and starts to leave the side of the pan
Add color of your choice (pink, red, yellow or green)
Wet a  square bowl with a little water.
Pour sugar cake mixture into bowl. When dry cut into squares.
