West Indian Chow Mein and Fried Rice

CHOW-MEIN

Fried Rice with Chicken

1 Pack  Guyanese Style  Chow Mein

3 Tbsp 100% Pure Sesame Oil

2 Tbsp Chinese Sauce 

2 Tbsp Soy Sauce

2 Tbsp Hoisin Sauce

1 Tbsp Ginger- chopped

2 Tsp butter

2 1/2 Tsp Salt

2 Cloves Garlic- chopped  

1/3 of whole Onions-sliced

1/2 Cup Mixed Vegetables

Or any vegetables of your choice.


Add noodles to boiling water and cook for 10-12 minutes. Stirring constantly don't over boil or it will turn out soft. 

Five minutes before noodles finish, add mixed vegetables to boiling water. This will make it nice and soft.

Drain noodles and add 2 tsp butter.

In another pot, heat Sesame oil for a few minutes. Don't over heat oil, or it will burn and smell.

Add garlic and saute for a few minutes. Add onions and cook for a few more minutes.

Add ginger then Chow Mein with mixed vegetables. If you are not using mix vegetables, then add the vegetables you would like to use and cook for ten minutes. Reduce heat to low.

Add soy sauce, chinese sauce, hoisin sauce, and remaining salt.

Garnish with scallions or chopped parsley.

Tips: Used vegetables of your choice. 

FRIED RICE IS COOKED THE SAME WAY, EXCEPT YOU COOK THE RICE FOR A SHORTER TIME. AND YOU AIR DRIED IT FOR A FEW HOURS, OR PLACE IN A REFRIGERATOR COVERED. USUALLY 2 CUPS OF LONG GRAIN RICE.
